If you call TI CONNECTIONS, you will either speak directly to an Intake Specialist or be able to leave a message letting us know what kind of assistance you need. We generally are able to return calls within 24 to 48 hours. Sometimes callers' issues or questions are simple and we are able to give you the information you need by phone or by mail and you are on your way. Some callers have more complex needs or are not sure how we can help. In that case, we may need to do some more intense problem solving or conduct a needs assessment in order to help you. A needs assessment is a structured interview with the person in need or their caregiver, via phone or in person that provides us with demographic and diagnostic information; a history of services received; and an identification of needs that the individual with the developmental disability and that person’s family may have.
